Common questions
Pricing and Offers
Money questions first, because nobody wants a surprise once the job's underway.
Do prices change once you start?
It shouldn't, and with us it doesn't. We agree the price with you first, that same price lands on the invoice, and nothing extra gets added once the van's parked outside.
How do quotes work?
Call, tell us what's happening, and we quote before touching anything. It's a free quote every time, whether the job is a five-minute clear or a full camera inspection.
What does "$50 off when you book online" cover?
Book your job through the website instead of just calling and $50 comes off the final price. It stacks with the free quote, not with the seniors discount.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
Never. The van rolls up for $0, we look at the problem for $0. The meter only starts once you've said yes to a price.
Common questions
Whose Drain Is It, and Who Can Touch It
Licensing questions matter more with drains than most trades, because getting it wrong can mean a cracked pipe.
Can I clear a blocked drain myself?
One blocked sink and a plunger, go for it. Anything past that, put the chemical cleaner and the hardware-store eel back on the shelf; NSW law puts real drainage work in a licensed plumber's hands, and older pipe punishes the wrong tool fast.
Are you licensed and insured?
Every visit. We hold NSW Plumbing Licence #275278C, we're Master Plumber accredited, and $20 million public liability insurance sits behind residential and strata work alike.
Do wipes really block drains?
Constantly, and the flushable label on the packet doesn't change what happens in the pipe. Wipes stay whole where paper falls apart, and that's what snags on roots or a joint and starts a blockage.
Who is responsible for a blocked sewer, me or Sydney Water?
Everything from your boundary shaft inward is yours, and ours to fix. If sewage is surfacing out at the street and your neighbours have the same issue, that's Sydney Water's mains, not a job for us.
Common questions
When We Can Come
Response questions, answered plainly.
What counts as a drain emergency?
Sewage rising through a floor waste, a toilet you can't get to stop running over, or stormwater climbing up against the foundations after a downpour. Any of those, ring us straight away instead of waiting to see if it settles.
How fast can you get here?
On-site in 30 minutes, guaranteed. That's the promise for Neutral Bay and everywhere in our regular run around it.
Do you work weekends and public holidays?
Yes, 365 days a year. A real person answers the phone whenever you call, not a machine reading a menu of options.
What happens after I call?
We ask what's going on, get someone moving toward you, and confirm a fixed price on-site before any tools come out. You approve it, then we start.
Common questions
Local to Neutral Bay
The last batch is specific to this postcode.
Do you know Neutral Bay's pipe stock?
Well. The Federation homes on the ridges still run original earthenware pipe in plenty of cases, and that era of pipework is exactly what tends to crack and block first.
How local are you, really?
We're on Shellcove Road and the streets around Neutral Bay often enough that the addresses stop needing a map. It's a suburb we cover every week, not one we look up before driving out.
Do you work on strata and apartment blocks?
Regularly. Shared drains serving the flats behind the Neutral Bay Junction and Big Bear shopping precinct are common call-outs. We deal directly with owners corporations and managers.
Do tree roots really get into pipes here?
Constantly. Mature street trees along the older blocks send roots into jointed clay pipe. It's the single biggest cause of recurring blockages we clear in the suburb.
